SERVING OUR COMMUNITY

SERVING OUR COMMUNITY

We’ve established a family that loves and respects each other and what we do. And our family is committed to extending that care throughout the Mid-South, and the rest of the world.

WE SERVE AND FINANCIALLY SUPPORT VARIOUS STRATEGIC ORGANIZATIONS IN HOPES OF IMPACTING PEOPLE BOTH LOCALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY.

Annual MLK Day of Service

To honor the legacy and resulting impact left by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we spend MLK Day each year fanning out across our community for a Day of Service. These projects are for the benefit of our mission partners who are making a difference – namely in the areas of education, evangelism, and community development.

Environmental and Social Responsibility

Just as we care about our team, and our community, we care about the world around us. Lehman-Roberts is the benefactor of many gifts — including the beautiful landscapes of the Mid-South. We’re determined to take care of those gifts and leave everything we touch better for those who follow us.

Because our industry is dependent on natural resources, stewardship of those resources is one of the core values we strive to accomplish every day. That’s why we take great pride in working with America’s most recycled material – asphalt. We take the utmost responsibility for our relationship to the environment, and we seek to minimize our environmental footprint. We’ve developed best practices that include recycling old asphalt and reusing other raw materials (including concrete and roof shingles) whenever possible.

We also see it as our responsibility to pave asphalt that offers solutions to issues within our community. This is seen from a number of the mix designs we employ, including porous asphalt, which retains water and offers a cost-effective alternative to mitigate flood risks. Lastly, the motoring public sees the benefits of these environmentally friendly resources, with increases in their fuel economy and reduced noise interference from smooth asphalt surfaces.

GOOD NEIGHBOR TRUCKING POLICY

We expect every driver entering and leaving our plant and job sites to be responsible, professional, and courteous. That’s why we developed our Good Neighbor Trucking Policy (GNTP) to address issues associated with trucks moving to and from its operations. We believe anyone engaged in the transportation of our products must share our commitment to safe and responsible trucking. This includes drivers, customers, brokers, and team members. In addition to our commitment to safety, we also desire to be sensitive to our community’s concerns about hauling on roads near its operations.

Our Good Neighbor Trucking policy reinforces local traffic laws, safety rules, and permit conditions. Additionally, it addresses many concerns of our neighbors so that we minimize our impact to the communities within which we operate. In many cases, the policy is supplemented with site-specific rules to address each operation according to its unique circumstances.
