Lehman-Roberts, a leader in the highway paving, construction and asphalt industry, is thrilled to announce the promotion of Greg Ketchum to Assistant Superintendent within the Construction Division.
In this role, Ketchum will support the grading, milling, and paving enterprise within the Memphis area. His day-to-day responsibilities will include coordination with contractors and asphalt plants, supervision of projects from the conceptual development stage through final construction, employee hiring, crew scheduling, and assignments, all while efficiently overseeing the safety and quality of projects.
Ketchum joined the family of companies back in 2008 as a member of the grading team. In 2009, Greg moved to the asphalt division, training as an Equipment Operator for the rubber tire roller. He then gained experience by serving as Asphalt Paver Operator for a period of time, where he exemplified adaptability. In 2018, Ketchum was appointed Grading Crew Foreman, where he supervised field operations and coordinated activities of the grading crew.
“Greg has always shown us that he is dependable and doesn’t take shortcuts. He makes sure the job is done right the first time,” said Jarod Riles, General Superintendent. “His exposure to both the milling and paving sides of our enterprise will serve him well. He’s been a great young leader thus far and we’re looking forward to seeing what he does next.”
Preston Bryson, Superintendent, mirrored those statements and spoke highly of the opportunities that Greg had extended to other young leaders. “Greg is a people person. He’s done a great job mentoring others, especially his Leadman, Daniel.”
“With our core values, humility sticks out the most to me with Greg. He does anything to get the job done… or as we say, he’s ‘willing to sweep the floors.’” Preston added. “Greg learned a lot from his time as a Foreman and now when he makes decisions, he’s got confidence that he’s making the right decision for the company.”
Many members of the team will tell you that Greg is someone who holds loyalty with high esteem. That sentiment extends outside of his work family, as Jarod closed with, “Greg is a family man and will do anything for his kids.”
We send immense congratulations to Greg on this achievement and look forwarding to watching his continued success!
