With a career in the construction industry, the sky is the limit. Those who have been in this field for decades will know that the opportunities are determined by those you seize and the effort you invest. A true testament to that statement is exemplified in Kajarvis Bradford, also commonly referred to as “Peanut” by his team members.
Within just 3 years at Lehman-Roberts, a Granite Company, Kajarvis has already paved the path of a strong career. Starting as a ground man on a paving crew, he quickly transitioned to run the water truck, and later the transfer machine for 2 years. Flash forward to 2024, and you’ll now find Kajarvis operating an asphalt paver.
Ellis Jones, a fellow teammate who submitted Kajarvis for this spotlight, shared, “I just really want to [honor] his contributions. He’s very easygoing and was great to train when he first joined.” He added, “So far, he’s doing an excellent job, and he always jumps in on any task that needs to be completed.”
The team Foreman, Hunter Franklin, mirrored that sentiment. He said, “One thing about Kajarvis is that you’ll always find him with a smile on his face. He isn’t afraid to push the team when everyone needs it. In fact, he has the makings of a good Leadman.”
Given his track record so far with the company, it is easily apparent that Kajarvis values continuous improvement in all aspects of the job. In addition to learning the ins and outs of several pieces of equipment, he also earned his CDL license in 2022, a process supported by Lehman-Roberts.
This same excellence is also demonstrated in the care Kajarvis takes at the start of each day. “Before the team even begins in the morning, you can spot Kajarvis on the job site getting the equipment ready. He does what it takes to get the job done right,” said Woody Franklin, Assistant Superintendent. Tyler Reed, a Tack Truck Driver for the team, added, “Kajarvis is laid back and easy to work with. He’s consistently one of the first people on the job every day.”
Woody put it best when he closed by sharing, “He truly has a bright future here.” Kajarvis, we thank you for your continued dedication to your craft and this team!
