While we have not been able to gather, thank and celebrate our retirees the way we would like, that does not diminish their contributions. We are very grateful for the years of dedication these two men shared with our family of companies and wish them health and happiness in their well-deserved retirements.
Bobby Clark
For the first time in 20 years, we are starting our construction season without Bobby. He has served as a member of Duke Watt’s crew, as an equipment operator and a TPR champion. Michael Ellis commented several years ago, “The main thing is you never see him just doing nothing. Never. If there is down time, he is rubbing, scratching or cleaning on his piece of equipment. He’s always tinkering on something. The team all loves him.”
Gary Oakley
Gary departed from our team after nearly 20 years of service this spring. He joined the sales efforts for Memphis Stone & Gravel in October 2000 and served as sales manager after leaving a similar role with Vulcan Materials. Yet, Gary’s commitment didn’t end with his defined job duties. He helped keep the home office running efficiently, heading up needed maintenance, purchasing supplies, making coffee every morning and making everyone laugh with his constant banter.
