Brayden Locke Promoted to Quality Control Specialist

Brayden Locke joined Lehman-Roberts, a Granite Company, in July 2021 and immediately set out to learn all he could about quality control (QC), the role these QC labs play in our operations, and the inner workings of the asphalt world. His hard work has already paid off, as Brayden was recently promoted from QC Technician to QC Specialist.

Since his start in quality control, Brayden has been patiently working towards his full DOT certifications – a task that is now complete after three years for MDOT and two years for TDOT. Moving forward, Brayden will be focused on asphalt mix designs and managing asphalt quality.

Don Fletcher, VP of Quality Control, summarized by sharing, “Brayden can essentially run the lab on his own now. He is certified to run asphalt samples in both Mississippi and Tennessee. He also has the authority to make any necessary changes, which is a big deal.”

Cory Collins, QC Manager for Outgoing Materials, spoke highly of Brayden’s work ethic. He remarked, “Brayden quickly learned to operate the lab and is self-sufficient. What [sticks out to me most] is his humility. You never catch Brayden complaining, and he’s always willing to go to [whichever lab] he is needed most.” We’ve already seen that statement in action, as Brayden has recently served in the QC labs of Plant 1 (Winona), Plant 5 (Memphis), Plant 6 (Hernando), and Plant 7 (Batesville).

Don went on to add, “Brayden has shown that continuous improvement is an important trait of his work ethic. He’s hungry for knowledge, and always willing to ask questions and look for ways to help out his team. He’s shown that he values a [successful career] here.” Cory closed by saying, “He’s already proven to be an asset to the lab and the company. He truly has a bright future here.”
