When David Middleton started his journey with Lehman-Roberts and sister company Memphis Stone & Gravel, he did so as an intern. After successfully obtaining his degree nine months later, he departed for a long-term role at Vanderbilt University. Although the Lehman-Roberts Information Technology (IT) team did not require extra full-time staff at that moment, David’s work ethic and expertise had left a significant impact. He was invited to rejoin the team as IT Manager just two years later.
After ten years of service with the team and later being promoted to Director of IT, David is held in high esteem by his peers for laying the foundation of a strong IT department. Thus, we are thrilled to announce David’s new promotion to Senior Director of Strategy and Technology.
With David’s leadership, he and his team have aided our operations with technologies and programming designed to cultivate strong performance and ongoing improvement. His team is continually working behind the scenes to ensure seamless production at both our plants and job sites.
Throughout the company, David is known as a strategic thinker, an advocate for strong company culture, and someone who is always looking for ways to improve the day-to-day work life of his peers. Even outside of the office, he places high emphasis on his goal to continually learn and collaborate, serving as a member of the Greater Memphis IT Council.
In this role, David will oversee the Strategy and Technology department, which consists of personnel from IT, Continuous Improvement, Communications, and Community Engagement. This department will serve to support Lehman-Roberts and sister company Memphis Stone & Gravel through the goals of innovation, strategic planning, IT business systems, process improvements, and more.
Jeremy Ramberg, VP of Construction and to whom David reports, shared, “We are incredibly excited for David and his new role. He has always impressed me with his forward-looking and strategic mindset. He has a keen sense of improving and making processes better continually.”
He added, “What also impresses me about David is his mentorship and authentic desire to have his team grow and be the best versions of themself. Congratulations, David, and I look forward to watching you grow in [this] role.”
We look forward to watching you lead well and excel in this role, David. Congratulations!
