When Dennis Knight joined our team in 2001, he did so as an “all-around” person at Plant 11 located in Oxford, MS – essentially helping with any and every need that arose. More often than not, this consisted of long days and sometimes late nights to ensure the asphalt plant continued producing materials when and where they were needed most. It wasn’t long before he saw the fruits of this labor, as Dennis was promoted to Foreman shortly after.
Fast forward to 2024, and Dennis is starting the construction season with a new harvest from his years of dedicated labor, as he was recently promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Plant Maintenance.
Having formerly served in his prior role for 22 years, Dennis has built a wealth of knowledge and rapport with his teammates. It comes as no surprise that he has been continually praised for his “people over process” mentality. The same care Dennis has taken with the asphalt plants over the years is seen in equal measure with the relationships he builds.
In this role, Dennis will serve as a key member of the Production & Manufacturing Division by assisting with managing the maintenance shop and field maintenance processes, which include: asphalt and wash plant maintenance, repair planning/scheduling, employee hiring, and training, all while efficiently overseeing the safety of personnel and quality of workmanship.
Richard Shankle, the companies’ Superintendent of Plant Maintenance who has already worked with Dennis in multiple capacities, spoke highly of Dennis’ career thus far by adding, “He will transition well [into this new role] because he already has a vast background in maintenance. Having been the Foreman at Plant 11 in Oxford for so long, he was already doing [much] of his own maintenance.”
John Paul Finerson (VP of Production) shared, “We are proud to have Dennis promoted to [this role]. His dedication to thorough maintenance practices as Foreman at Plant 11 will beneficially flow out to all of our other asphalt plants.”
He added, “Dennis will quickly get up to speed with repairs and maintenance of our wash plants with the help of Richard Shankle, Superintendent, and Bobby Runions, Assistant Superintendent of Plant Maintenance. Congratulations to Dennis for this next step in his career advancement.”
We are excited to witness Dennis excel in his new role, further develop his skills, and effectively support his peers well on the road ahead!
