In 21st-century construction, our industry is in the middle of a boom in innovation. One piece of technology recently tested at Lehman-Roberts, a Granite Company, is a 3D automation tool, which can be utilized on pavers and milling machines and allows users to precisely work using digital models created for projects.
Why 3D tech? Tyler Jordan, Project Manager, said, “This technology is not yet required for [all of our jobs], but adopting this technology early will allow us to get ahead of the curve and learn the [components] before needed.”
Tyler added, “The biggest benefits provided by 3D paving are increased efficiency, accuracy, and improvements in ride quality by removing imperfections in the subgrade.” While not being used in all projects, the Lehman-Roberts team will begin incorporating this innovative tech as needed.
