MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 15, 2021 – Lehman-Roberts Co., a leader in the highway paving, construction, asphalt and aggregate industry, was awarded a Quality Paving Award in the category of “Best New Construction/Reconstruction” from the Mississippi Asphalt Pavement Association (MAPA).
“We’re honored to have received this recognition. In every job we approach, we’re striving to provide reliability to the community by paving roadways that will provide a safe driving experience and stand the test of time,” said Michael Ellis, Vice President of Construction. “Thanks to the dedication from our team, we’re able to call this project another success.”
Lehman-Roberts won the award for the Highway 330 project in Yalobusha County, Mississippi, which was completed on behalf of the paving crew led by Darrell Franklin. For the project, Lehman-Roberts joined forces with Kimes & Stone, who were pivotal in ensuring success with their soil cement for the pavement base.
The SR-330 project was a full-depth reclamation and overlay of approximately five miles of roadway, starting at I-55 and extending to Whitten Plant Research Facility. The end result of this project is a highway that is expected to serve motorists for at least two decades.
